The European Union (EU), in an effort to protect human health and reduce environmental pollution has approved EU Directive RoHS 2002/95/EC to restrict the use of:
| * Lead (Pb) | * Mercury (Hg) |
| * Cadmium (Cd) | * Hexavalent Chromium |
| * Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB) | * Polybrominated Diphenyl ether (PBDE) |
The Directive states that member countries of the European Union Council shall insure that new equipment sold after July 1, 2006, is complaint with RoHS.
RAF Electronic Hardware would like to state that as of July 1, 2006, our steel, brass, and aluminum are compliant under the EU RoHS Directive exemption (6) lead as an alloying element. Our stainless, nylon, teflon and phenolic are all in compliance with the Directive and do not contain any deca-BDE or any other substances restricted by this directive.
Also, all of our plating codes are RoHS compliant with the following exceptions:
| * -1 (Cadmium Commercial) | * -6 (Gold Iridite) |
| * -2 (Cadmium Clear Chromate) | * -9 (Alodine 1200) |
| * -3 (Cadmium Yellow Chromate) |
You can be assured that we, here at RAF, have experienced a smooth transition, and will be able to insure a continuous flow of product and continue to maintain a high level of service to our customers.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us immediately at RoHS@rafhdwe.com.
